LOADRITE Makes Life Easy
Pyrmont Raw Materials (PRM) is a recycling, building materials and bulk handling company. It is based in St Marys, 40km from Sydney CBD. Building materials are brought onto PRM’s yard by contractors who have cleared sites throughout the Sydney metro area. These materials go through a crushing and screening process to produce all types of aggregate products. Afterwards the recycled material is sold to builders and contractors for road base, building sites, land rehabilitation projects and so on. PRM operates Caterpillar 966 and 980 wheel loaders. These loaders move up to 400,000 tonnes of recycled product annually. PRM uses the LOADRITE weighing systems to track the production of products and record stock movements both in and out of their production facility at St Mary’s. PRM also uses LOADRITE Material Management System software™ (MMS). A data capsule is situated in the cab of each loader. When the loader lifts a load this is recorded by the data capsule and the information is later transferred from this capsule into the MMS software on the office PC so that PRM can manage inventory, identify peak loading
patterns and program the production of products to maintain adequate stock of different products for resale.

PRM treats the cost of LOADRITE as part of the loader cost. “It is a must have if you want to profitably manage your business,” says Tony Ellis, General Manager of Pyrmont Raw Materials. “It’s also much more accurate than truck scales, which tend to bounce a lot,” he adds. PRM also likes the flexibility of the LOADRITE weighing system, because it is onboard the loader it means the loader can operate at another site and all the loads can still be recorded.
